The program breeding talents and awards that supports films in post-production from Africa and the Middle East.

The call for the 12th edition of the Final Cut in Venice program, that will take place from September 1st to 3rd 2024 as part of the Venice Production Bridge of the 81st Venice International Film Festival (28 August – 7 September 2024), is now available on the website of La Biennale di Venezia www.labiennale.org

Since 2013, Final Cut in Venice has provided concrete assistance to complete quality films from Africa, as well as Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria breeding talents and awards.

To participate in the 12th Final Cut in Venice, please fill in the pre-selection online entry form available on the website www.labiennale.org, and send the materials to the email address finalcut@labiennale.org on or before June 10th 2024.

The 12th edition of Final Cut in Venice will consist of a three-day program (September 1st to 3rd 2024) on the Lido di Venezia during the 81st Venice Film Festival, in which up to 6 working copies of selected films-in-progress will be presented to producers, buyers, distributors and film festival programmers. There will be opportunities for networking, encounters and meetings in which directors and producers will be able to engage with the participants in the program. Individual meetings between the teams of the selected films and the professionals will be organized on September 3rd 2024.

Only Industry pass holders will be allowed to attend the screenings: producers, distributors, operators, buyers, festival programmers, representatives of the institutions and others invited in advance by the Festival management.

The Venice Production Bridge is co-financed by the European Commission’s MEDIA Fund.

The 81st Venice International Film Festival, directed by Alberto Barbera and organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will be held on the Lido from August 28th to September 7th 2024.

The awards

Final Cut in Venice will conclude with the awarding of prizes in kind or in cash, the purpose of which is to provide economic support for the post-production phase of the films. For the eighth year, La Biennale di Venezia will give a prize of € 5,000 to the best film in post-production. The La Biennale di Venezia Prize will be attributed by a jury composed of three members named by the Festival Director, while the other prizes will be awarded by final and irrevocable decision of the Festival Director, withFinal Cut in Venice supporters.

We are pleased to announce that this year we are adding the awards of three new supporters: 196 Media, M74srl, and Mnemonica. We also confirm the supporters who have accompanied Final Cut in Venice since its early editions and those who have joined over the years: Laser Film, Studio A Fabrica, Oticons, MAD Solutions, Titra Film, Sub-Ti Ltd, Sub-Ti Access Srl, Red Sea Fund, Rai Cinema, El Gouna Film Festival, Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, Cinémathèque Afrique of the Institut Français, Festival International du Film d’Amiens, Festival International de Films de Fribourg.

For the third year in a row, the FCV program will benefit of the additional support of the Red Sea International Film Festival.
